The Development Chair plays a key role in cultivating a strong and connected community within SEL. This position focuses on creating opportunities for professional growth, building lasting relationships between members and mentors, and fostering an inclusive environment that supports both new and existing volunteers. By guiding engagement efforts and strengthening internal development, the Development Chair helps ensure SEL’s long-term impact and sustainability.

  • Facilitates SEL's bimonthly "all-hands" meetings, including creating the meeting agenda, slides, and all educational materials and recruiting guest speakers (Examples: 1, 2)

  • Coordinates a mentorship program connecting SEL volunteers with professionals in medicine, public health, law, nonprofits, and other related sectors

  • Manages SEL's internship program and maintains SEL’s membership database

  • Assists with new member onboardings

  • Ensures the engagement and retention of all current SEL members
